Jack London Elementary School

I've been a kindergarten teacher in the Piner-Olivet District for over twenty years and attended Piner Elementary as a child. The Piner-Olivet District has grown a lot since then! I have taught at Olivet and Piner Schools and I am pleased to be a part of the Jack London School staff. Jack London School is a wonderful environment to work and learn in. I love working with kindergartners and am pleased to say that I have a wonderful, enthusiastic class this year!

Welcome to Kindergarten! I look forward to a year filled with fun and learning. The students are making new friends and learning to listen and take turns. On August 27th we begin our Houghton-Mifflin Reading Program. We will review one letter a day until we have learned to recognize all the letters from A-Z. Many children come to kindergarten with letter and number recognition, and some do not. Parents should work with their child to recognize both upper and lower case letters. A good place to start are the letters in the child's name. On Back to School Night Parents will learn more about our programs and hear about the exciting things the children will learn this year! Please mark your calendar for Thursday, September 4th at 6:30 PM. This is an adult only event.
